Arizona Collects

Arizona Collects features a selection of artworks by Black artists from private and public Arizona collections. The exhibition underscores the vast variety and desirability of work that has been created by a diversity of Black artists from the latter part of the last century to the present. The artists include Kara Walker, Glenn Ligon, Robert Colescott, Hurvin Anderson, Allison Miller, Willie Bonner, Carl Euegene, Jacob Lawrence, Amber Doe and others. Also included is a group of posters from Black Panther Minister of Culture Emory Douglas, on loan from MOCA-Tucson. Inspired by these selections, we hope to encourage both new and established collectors to enhance their art holdings with paintings, works on paper, sculpture or handwork from artists of African descent.
